Had a few questions on this so:-

You only really need one each of the Escalation packs so to get the optimum package you need to optional buy the Carrier and Dreadnought Escalation packs and pledge a total of £119 or £114 if you are an early bird Admiral

The Vice Admiral, Logistics/Space Platform and Space Rift Escalation packs are free stretch goal rewards. You can buy more of these if you want to customise your game (give yourself more task force points!) or to use in other games.

All of these will also be available in the Backerkit pledge manager when the campaign finishes and we send you a survey to complete your order but better to pledge now whilst the campaign is live to unlock more stretch goals!

Its Friday, the sun is shining and England are still in the World Cup!

So, I have decided to give all our lovely backers a treat and have early unlocked THREE more stretch goals

Everyone now gets an additional free Commonwealth cruiser squadron (3 ships and bases), an additional free Confederation cruiser squadron (3 ships and bases) and an extra unit markers pack for all their extra squadron stretch goals (a Kickstarter exclusive)

So, including the core game, that's 127 ship models - 35 of which are Kickstarter freebies! That does not include any of the discounted optional buy carrier and dreadnought escalation packs

We’ve given bits and pieces of info about the Red Alert Escalation Packs, but here’s a quick run down all in one place:

Vice-Admiral Escalation Pack

  • Free to all backers; also available to purchase as an optional buy.
  • Comes with: 1 x Commonwealth flagship and 3 x Commonwealth cap fighters; 1 x Confederation flagship and 3 x Confederation cap fighters; rules booklet including 2 new scenarios; punchboard for new ships.
  • Purchase Points: 31 points
  • Class: Capital
  • Figures: Flagship figure and 3 cap fighters
  • Sub-Light Move: 1 Hex
  • Battle: 2-3-3-1 dice. In addition to the flagship’s close quarters dice, add 1 die for each cap fighter figure with the flagship unit. 

Carrier Escalation Pack

  • Available to purchase as an optional buy.
  • Comes with: 1 x Commonwealth carrier and 3 x Commonwealth carrier fighters; 1 x Confederation carrier and 3 x Confederation carrier fighters; rules booklet including 2 new scenarios; punchboard for new ships.
  • Purchase Points: 21 points
  • Class: Capital
  • Figures: Carrier and 3 carrier fighters
  • Sub-Light Move: 1 Hex. When the carrier unit is ordered instead of moving the carrier figure, each carrier fighter can launch and move sub-light up to 4 hexes.
  • Battle: 2-2-2 dice. Each carrier fighter when launched will combat in close quarters with 2 dice.
  • In Richard Borg’s own words: A carrier unit is by far one of the more interesting units in the game system. The ability to strike at the enemy with its hit and run tactics makes the carrier fighters a threat to every class of enemy ship. Yet there are sound and proven methods to blunt this threat. Discovering just how best to use a carrier and its fighters in battle will be a challenge.

Dreadnought Escalation Pack

  • Available to purchase as an optional buy.
  • Comes with: 1 x Commonwealth dreadnought and 3 x Commonwealth dreadnought fighters; 1 x Confederation dreadnought and 3 x Confederation dreadnought fighters; rules booklet including 2 new scenarios; punchboard for new ships.
  • Purchase Points: 40 points
  • Class: Capital
  • Figures: Dreadnought and 3 dreadnought fighters
  • Sub-Light Movement: 1 Hex
  • Battle: 3-3-3 dice. When the dreadnought is ordered each dreadnought fighter will also add 1 die in combat.
  • In Richard Borg’s own words: The largest and most feared ship in any fleet is their Dreadnought. What more can be said about this unit. The Dreadnought is the ultimate Kick Ass Ship.

Logistics & Space Platform Escalation Pack

  • Free to all backers; also available to purchase as an optional buy.
  • Comes with: 8 x transport ships (for any fleet); 1 x space platform; rules booklet including 4 new scenarios; punchboard for new ships.

Space platform

  • Purchase Points: 12 points
  • Class: Capital
  • Figures: One figure
  • Sub-Light Move: 1 Hex. Must remain in orbit (in adjacent hex) to planet it is with.
  • Battle: 3-3-2-2-1-1 dice When players wish to deploy a space platform, the player with the lower task force card number is the only player that may use support points to purchase the space platform.
  • A space platform may disregard all red alerts rolled against it in combat.

Transport

  • Purchase Points: 7 points
  • Class: Strike
  • Figures: Two figures
  • Sub-Light Move: 2 Hexes
  • Battle: 2-1 dice
  • When a transport unit is not adjacent to an enemy unit or is not in red alert status at the start of the player’s turn, you gain one star token before ordering units.
  • When planet control objective rules are in effect, two victory points are gained for each transport unit that occupies a planet hex at the start of the player’s turn.
  • When breakthrough objective rules are in effect, a transport unit that exits the battlefield from opponent’s baseline will score double points, 4 points not 2.

Another stretch goal unlocked and a new one added!

I've unlocked the £95k stretch goal early - a free extra Confederation destroyer squadron (3 models and bases) to all our lovely backers

AND added a new one at £100k - a Kickstarter exclusive of an extra set of silver (colour!) "Admiral's Dice"

The £85k stretch goal of an extra Commonwealth destroyer squadron is a whisker away.........
